Black Diamond Ranch Country Club
Black Diamond Ranch was founded in 1987. The club is the center piece of a 1,320 acre guard gated community. Despite legends to the contrary, the club’s name came from a premium grade of grapefruit. The club has forty-nine holes of world class golf designed by famed golf course architect Tom Fazio, who claims the Quarry Course is his finest work. The club also has a four-hole short course called Diamond Dunes. These holes, when coupled with the club’s impressive practice facility complete with short game area and three sets of range tees, make Black Diamond an extraordinary golf experience in every way.
The Highlands nine holes and the Ranch’s eighteen are award winning in their own right. Fazio believes the 16th,17th, and 18th holes of the Ranch are the best finishing holes he has ever designed. But the Quarry course is special, and dramatically different than the majority of courses designed in Florida.
With significant changes of elevation, The Quarry course boasts the most spectacular five consecutive holes in golf, per renowned golf writer Dan Jenkins. The 13th through 17th holes wind through an abandoned limestone quarry around a quarry pit that is filled with 100 feet of water. The 15th hole is believed by many to be one of the most photographed holes in golf. Some of the cliffs lining the holes are over 30 feet high.
The club is amenity rich with tennis, pool and a recently renovated 24 hour fitness center. The clubhouse has amazing views in all directions and houses the club’s circular bar, grill, golf shop and Men’s and Ladies’ Locker Rooms. While the club is private, it does have Stay & Play homes available for guests to experience the golf and get a peek at the secluded and elegant homes that make up this residential gem.
