Since Gordon's boys like golf, that's important to him. He says, "There's a strong family vibe. It's very supportive of youth golf, whether it's the pro shop and Dave McQuade or the members themselves." Black Diamond Ranch fosters a sense of community, evident in the way members and staff interact with children. Gordon continues, "They have tournaments that are for the kids or more leaning towards them... you can see that they enjoyed kids, the way they welcome and involve them."

Member Reese Norris, who hails from New England, describes his initial impression: "Quite honestly, I was disappointed in Florida because most of the golf is boring and flat. And I'm from New England and I'm accustomed to rolling hills, elevation changes." Black Diamond Ranch exceeded his expectations. "When I finished my opening round, I said I had gone to golfer's heaven," he exclaims. Reese describes evenings spent on his lanai, as "extremely relaxing, it's beautiful, we don't hear traffic, we don't hear noise."

Reese emphasizes, "Although the golf courses are unparalleled, I'd say the best thing is the members. The members here are really nice and friendly and welcoming."
